Evensong is a peaceful, contemplative service of evening prayer, drawn from centuries of Anglican tradition. Held as day turns to night, it blends scripture, ancient prayers, and exquisite choral music into a gentle rhythm of worship.<\/p>\n
At the heart of the service are the\u00a0<\/span>Magnificat<\/em>\u00a0<\/span>and\u00a0<\/span>Nunc Dimittis<\/em>\u2014timeless canticles that remind us of God\u2019s presence and faithfulness. Congregational participation is gentle, with communal singing of the psalm encouraged but not required.<\/p>\n Instead of a sermon, we often feature a short reflection by a guest speaker on a figure or theme of spiritual or cultural significance\u2014ranging from poets and scientists to saints and social thinkers.<\/p>\n Evensong begins at 5:00 pm, with light refreshments to follow.<\/p>\n Please check the parish website or bulletin for upcoming dates.
