those who are being tortured, as though you yourselves<br \/>\nwere being tortured.<br \/>\nLet marriage be held in honour by all, and let the marriage bed be<br \/>\nkept undefiled; for God will judge fornicators and adulterers.<br \/>\nKeep your lives free from the love of money, and be content with<br \/>\nwhat you have; for he has said, I will never leave you or forsake you.<br \/>\nSo we can say with confidence,<br \/>\nThe Lord is my helper;<br \/>\nI will not be afraid.<br \/>\nWhat can anyone do to me?<br \/>\nRemember your leaders, those who spoke the word of God to you;<br \/>\nconsider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith.<br \/>\nJesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and for ever.<br \/>\nThrough him, then, let us continually offer a sacrifice of praise to<br \/>\nGod, that is, the fruit of lips that confess his name.<br \/>\nDo not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such<br \/>\nsacrifices are pleasing to God.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n<details>\n<summary>Luke 14.1, 14.7-14<\/summary>\n<p>On one occasion when Jesus was going to the house of a leader of<br \/>\nthe Pharisees to eat a meal on the sabbath, they were watching him<br \/>\nclosely. When he noticed how the guests chose the places of honour,<br \/>\nhe told them a parable. When you are invited by someone to a<br \/>\nwedding banquet, do not sit down at the place of honour, in case<br \/>\nsomeone more distinguished than you has been invited by your host;<br \/>\nand the host who invited both of you may come and say to you,<br \/>\nGive this person your place, and then in disgrace you would start to<br \/>\ntake the lowest place. But when you are invited, go and sit down at<br \/>\nthe lowest place, so that when your host comes, he may say to you,<br \/>\nFriend, move up higher; then you will be honoured in the presence of<br \/>\nall who sit at the table with you. For all who exalt themselves will<br \/>\nbe humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted. He<br \/>\nsaid also to the one who had invited him, When you give a luncheon<br \/>\nor a dinner, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your<br \/>\nrelatives or rich neighbours, in case they may invite you in return,<br \/>\nand you would be repaid. But when you give a banquet, invite the<br \/>\npoor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind.
